I have had my eye on these little wild strawberry plants for some time and now they are in season. The taste is exquisite and they could grace a gourmet dessert in the best of restaurants so that the clients would feel very pleased with such a delicacy.
They are growing along the top of a stone wall that runs along beside the pavement on a popular route into town and I would imagine several hundreds of people would pass them by, missing them by a couple of feet. Why?
I don't know. Perhaps people don't notice them, are intent on where they are going or don't know they are edible. It's an opportunity they miss and it's an opportunity I take up, picking a small handful and eating them on the spot most days. Yummy! I imagine the same people who walk past would value the strawberries if they were served up to them, on a plate so to speak.
So what's the possibility here? What opportunities are there that are in front of everybody's noses that most people aren't recognising - that you recognise? Or could recognise if you started looking? What could you obtain from a source that is overlooked and that you could present to advantage in some different situation?
I bought a house a few years ago at a bargain price. Everyone who viewed it was passing it up because it was dirty and smelly inside. The cause of the smell was a leaky loo which I had replaced for £250. The house was cleaned up and stripped back to reveal wooden floors and beautiful old tiles. By the time it was habitable the smell had dissipated. I knew all that but so many people didn't.
Why?
I suppose because we are all different and have different experience and awareness. I think it's worth looking out for the business opportunities and property opportunities that everyone else is missing, and not assuming that they see them just because you can.
Some of the opportunities out there are just for you, and they may not be that far away.
Mmmm... Those strawberries look like a distilled package of juicy loveliness. The pictures here do look great - only thing is there doesn't seem to be a scroll bar on the right of the picture; the only way to see the whole picture being to use the arrow keys. Keep up the good work on the site :-)
