Interesting day, a day between social days in which I could get things done. I didn't do all I planned in terms of my time management for the day but in a way I achieved much more. Here's the log fire to prove it:
I had damp logs to move into a covered logpile to season. That's to make way for some new dry wood and I thought I'd make a start before going to the gym (yeay! I've joined a gym for the first time and am all enthusiastic...) but I got stuck into it, a bigger job than I expected too - as those kinds of jobs tend to be, and ended up shifting the lot. Interesting really because at first I was thinking I should hurry up to get to the gym to get some exercise and then clicked the silliness of that when I was doing a great deal of weight-lifting at home! I carried on through the cold hands hurting barrier and went from winter sluggishness to feeling comfortably lively and warm.
Great, sense of satisfaction and completeness. And simplicity. I'm writing this near the woodstove. It's a reminder to me to keep things simple.
And to allow chunks of time in my planning to allow myself to get right into one task and to complete it. That's a timely reminder as I block time off in the new year for various things.
